Getting back to what your business really is: Week 1

Today, most business owners feel owned by the business. They go to bed full of stress and wondering what happened to the dream that inspired them to become an entrepreneur in the first place.

Well it’s time to get that dream back. For most, it is just a simple understanding of where they currently find themselves and what motivated the move to business ownership. Many find that while the desire was great, the “type” of business they formed was not conducive to business success.

We will spend this first week looking at ways to reposition your company and start fresh. This could mean going after a different customer base, changing from local to national, or from on-line to on-location.

Sales Training: Week 2 & 3

Every business is a sales business. It doesn’t matter if you are a non-profit charity, a dentist, or a dog walker, someone needs to place money in your hands in order for you to stay active, and that is sales.

The problem is, most people start businesses with no training on the topic. This gets even worse when they hire employees and provide them with no training on the topic. Your life blood is money; it’s time we get your business making more of it.

Well, if branding is so important, why do so few small businesses do it? The answer is, they usually don’t know how and/or don’t understand the importance of the brand. Proper branding will turn your company into a household name.

Branding is not just getting a logo and a website! Branding takes skill, strategy, timing, and a proper understanding of what business you are in.

A real quick example: Amp energy drink, that is a brand. Their brand is so powerful that they actually make more money from selling products with the brand on them then the actual Amp product!! There are companies that have stopped making their products decades ago, but the heirs are still making money off of branded merchandise sold to people who remember what the brand represents.

Learning how to brand your business could mean not only the difference between keeping your business open or closing it down, but also the difference between a couple hundred grad a year or a few million (or more).
